Why I Wrote The Book
When I became pregnant with my first child, I made a list of everything I thought I needed to know- and set out to find the answers. After all of my research was complete, I came to find that there were still many pertinent details that were omitted– by the books, by the doctor, and by my own sister!
No one ever told me- that I may feel baby hiccups in my rectum, that my nipples were going to crack apart, or that I would be entitled to a “pregnancy card” that would be quite handy when cutting a toilet line of 100 people.
Frankly Pregnant: A Candid Week-by-Week Guide to the Unexpected Joys, Raging Hormones, and Common Experiences of Pregnancy gives a weekly, real-life account of my last pregnancy. In the book I frankly discuss- the symptoms of the week (moles, skin tags and third nipples), experiences of girlfriends, and anecdotes on subjects ranging from C-sections to cannoli cravings.
Hopefully the telling of my story and those of many other girlfriends will give women (and men) a better insight into what it is really like to be pregnant and give birth.
